Lizards!! and such!

On a building in Ciudad del Carmen
We haven't seen them yet?!! But yikes!  This
is on the road to Benemerito

We live in the jungle!  It is all around us and grows at a rapid rate- the nickname for Villahermosa is "El Eden de México". With all the green growth comes insects, lizards, birds, etc.  We see and live with all types of lizards around us and in our houses, I have even seen large green iguanas crossing the street in front of our house. So, I thought it would be fun to share a few of the pictures I have captured.  We have little lizards called "lagartija" that live in our house.  We rarely see them, but we hear them- the sound they make sounds like someone knocking on the door- then every once in a while we see one, even baby ones. So here is a peek into life in the Villahermosa Mission:

Lagartija-

This is a little tiny one, they are
really fast!

We were playing soccer on P-day with the Office
Elders and they caught this one in the parking lot
of the Mission Office and Stake Center! Caught
by Elder Gale, held by everyone

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to hold it!

Elder Zamora caught one just outside the Mission
Office too!
Elder Mortensen in Benemerito caught
this guy and used what he could find
to hold on to it - it is a tie!
He says there are lots in Benemerito!!!

Up close with the iguana

Evidently, this is what they do with the iguanas
after they catch it. Elder Mortensen reported
it was pretty tasty!

Out and about in el campo -
This is one of the thousands that lives
at Comalcoalco Ruins
This is what Hermana Garcia did with the little lizard
she caught!

This snake met his end with a machette
out in el campo
